The Winslow Boy (Archive)

by Terence Rattigan

October 1984

The Winslow Boy, one of Terence Rattigan’s most successful plays, is based on a true-life drama involving the Archer-Shee family and Sir Edward (later Lord) Carson, who was the most famous advocate of his day. The trial was a sensation. Rattigan has turned the story into a moving human history. By a curious coincidence, the real Mr. Archer-Shee is buried locally, at Baddesley Clinton.
